Go to the source
We prioritize Washington statutes, Washington Courts materials, government agencies, and relevant published court decisions. Secondary commentary may add context, but cannot replace the authority for a significant legal proposition.
We distinguish statutes, published decisions, unpublished illustrations, interpretation, and hypotheticals. A court-hosted slip opinion is labeled when it is not the final official report. We do not invent cases, quotations, statistics, credentials, or endorsements.
What the dates mean
“Source checked” records when the linked material was consulted. It is not a certification that every amendment, case, or local rule has been covered. Older handbooks and tax-year-specific guidance are identified.
“Last legally reviewed” is reserved for an actual qualified review. The initial source-and-preparation guides have not been attorney reviewed. Their law-current-through and legal-review dates are unset rather than inferred from a website visit.
A boundary around legal analysis
We publish preparation guides and questions without applying the law to a reader. Substantive legal-analysis drafts stay out of public routes, search, and the sitemap until accountable qualified Washington attorney review is recorded.
The publication gate requires review status, reviewer identity and credential verification, a review date, and a law-current-through date. Recording those fields is a statement of work actually completed, not a substitute for the review.
AI and editorial responsibility
AI-assisted tools were used to develop the initial site and draft content. AI output is not an authority, and an automated source check is not attorney review. Reader tool inputs and form submissions are not sent to an AI service by this application.
The initial guides identify their unreviewed status. Original sources remain attached, and legal-analysis drafts require the same qualified review regardless of who or what produced the first draft.
Corrections and updates
Use the correction category on the contact page to identify a URL, the passage you believe is wrong, and a supporting source if available. Avoid including private case documents or identifying family details.
Submissions are available to the operator for review when storage is configured. We cannot promise a response time or a particular resolution. Material corrections should update the article and its dates; unclear legal analysis should be withheld while it is checked.
Commercial transparency
Paid placement must be labeled “Sponsored.” Payment cannot be presented as an objective quality score, a review, or an endorsement. Editorial sources and conclusions must remain separate from commercial placement.
Professional biographies, credentials, and verification claims may be published only after verification. There are no fabricated professionals or testimonials in the public directory.
